process.nextTick places its callbacks at the very beginning of the callback queue(before I/O and timer callbacks), and setImmediate places its callbacks at the end of the callback queue. file(after I/O and timer callbacks).

There is no difference, except that process.nextTick refers to the old way of placing a callback in the event queue, andsetImmediate is the newer, more efficient method.

There is no difference in behavior, but a setImmediate can be canceled with clearImmediate, which is not the case with process.nextTick.
