As a member of the Multi-Cloud Platform team, you will be involved in developing an enterprise Kubernetes platform that serves as the foundational infrastructure for Woven by Toyota's key applications. We push the boundaries of cloud-native technologies, building highly available, robust, and secure platforms to empower developers to create the future of mobility.

The Multi-Cloud Platform team is seeking software engineers passionate about cloud-native technologies and Kubernetes platform development. We welcome individuals who are constantly ahead of the curve in Kubernetes and the CNCF ecosystem, actively exploring new technologies and ways of working. We are looking for those who enjoy collaborating not only with direct team members but also with engineers from different domains to deliver robust, secure, and scalable solutions.
Job Description
- Design and implement multi-cloud Kubernetes solutions and cloud services that are highly available, cost-effective, and secure.
- Develop backend software and Kubernetes controllers, primarily in Go.
- Develop automated tests and health check functions to validate critical components.
- Design and build modular infrastructure deployment patterns for Kubernetes using general tools like Kustomize, Helm, and Terraform.
- Collaborate with engineers from other domains to define technical requirements and deliver customer value.
- Work with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and Observability engineers to triage, troubleshoot, and mitigate production issues.
- Advise managers, peers, and senior leaders in various domains on Kubernetes and platform engineering best practices and architectural patterns.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers within feature teams and related teams.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive experience in developing and maintaining large-scale Kubernetes cloud platforms using configuration tools like Kustomize and Helm in an enterprise environment.
- Advanced knowledge of Kubernetes infrastructure and security, including service meshes like Istio.
- Extensive experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) development using technologies like Terraform and Ansible.
- 5+ years of practical experience in developing highly available cloud platforms on cloud providers such as AWS or GCP.
- 5+ years of practical experience in backend software development using languages like Go or Python.
- Experience building CI/CD automation workflows using tools like Github Actions or Jenkins.
- Practical knowledge of cloud security and networking best practices.
- English proficiency sufficient for business communication.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with GitOps tools such as Argo or Flux CD.
- Contributions to Kubernetes open-source technologies.
- Experience developing and maintaining multi-tenant platforms based on the principle of least privilege.
- Ability to clearly explain complex topics to a wide range of stakeholders, including engineers from different domains, product managers, and technical leaders.
- Experience working in a multinational team environment across different time zones.
- Fluent communication in Japanese.
